Seaman, a club legend, revealed to talkSPORT: “Everybody is talking about signing a new striker, and it does look like what we need. We’re trying to get a striker, but signing a marquee player in January is very rare. Kai Havertz isn’t an out-and-out striker, but he has scored some important goals.” He further added: “I know for a fact they’re trying like mad to get one. Whether it will happen now or in the summer, I’m not sure. There are deals in the pipeline, so we’ll have to wait and see.”

Sesko has been in impressive form for RB Leipzig this season, scoring 14 goals in 26 appearances. He recently found the net in their 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League. Arsenal has also been linked with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, but no official deal has been finalized yet.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains in regular contact with the club hierarchy regarding the transfer window. Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s recent win, Arteta said: “We are in constant contact, understanding the situation and how the team is evolving.
